About the Society | |
Andhra Pradesh Ophthalmic Society (APOS) was formed in 1976 with a humble beginning
under the able leadership of Dr. P. Siva Reddy. The society which was started from an idea
of 5 ophthalmologists in 1976 grew to over 1300 members in 2014.
Due to the geographical division of Andhra Pradesh, the erstwhile APOS was divided into a
new Andhra Pradesh Ophthalmic Society (APOS) and Telangana Ophthalmological Society
(TOS). The new APOS has been registered under the Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration
Act 2001 bearing registration number 192 of 2014 , headquartered in Vijayawada
Our mission is to lead eye care by setting and improving standards, providing lifelong
education, promoting research and innovation.

publishing research articles, communications of the Andhra Pradesh Ophthalmic Society
(APOS), in-depth reviews, letters received by the editor and a high quality image bank. The
scientific quality is guaranteed through unbiased peer-review. The editors strongly
discourage editorial misconduct and if any paper is found to be a work of plagiarism,
without proper citation, the submission will not be considered for peer review and returned
to the authors or immediately rejected.
